A fete is not a party. There is no guest list, the queue never really stops, and the committee that booked you needs an invoice and a stall plan weeks in advance. QiBear has worked enough of them to plan for that — high-throughput twisting that keeps a line moving without a child walking away empty-handed.
How does balloon twisting work at a fete?
The defining feature of a fete is that the queue is open to everyone and never fully clears. Unlike a birthday party, where we know there are eighteen children and can spend a few minutes on each, a fete stall has a rolling public line — siblings, cousins, kids from other schools, and a fair number who come back for a second one. Planning for that changes how we work.
In practice it means favouring designs that read well and twist fast when the line is long, and saving the elaborate character pieces for the quieter stretches early and late in the day. Nobody is turned away and no child is rushed, but a stall that spends six minutes per creation will leave a very unhappy queue by the middle of the afternoon. We watch the line and adjust.

Which package suits a school fete?
Almost always the longest one. Fetes typically run three to five hours, and the three-hour package at AUD 400 is the one committees book most — it covers the busiest block without the stall going dark halfway through. Two hours at AUD 275 works for a smaller after-school fair or a twilight market; a single hour rarely suits a fete at all, because the queue builds faster than one hour can clear.
Our headcount guide of roughly ten children per hour still applies, but treat it as a floor rather than a ceiling at a fete: a well-attended primary school fair can put far more than thirty children past a stall in three hours. If your fete is large, tell us the expected attendance and we will be straight with you about what one twister can realistically cover and whether a longer booking makes sense.

Can you provide invoices for the P&C?
Yes. School and council bookings almost always need paperwork raised before the event rather than payment on the day, and we can supply the documentation these events typically require — just let us know what your committee needs and when, and we will get it across. It is worth asking early: P&C treasurers usually work to a meeting cycle, and a document requested the week of the fete is a document requested too late.
Queensland fete season clusters in Term 2 around May and June and again in Term 4 from October into November, which means a large number of schools across Brisbane and Logan are chasing the same Saturdays. Committees that book a term ahead get their date; those that start looking a fortnight out often do not.
Travel is free within 15 km of Drewvale and a flat AUD 30 from 15 to 40 km, which covers most of Brisbane's southside and much of Logan. Balloons and materials are included with no per-balloon charge, so the figure quoted to your committee is the figure they pay. How many children can you get through at a fete?

What happens if the fete is rained out?
Latex balloons do not hold up in rain, so we need a covered area such as a marquee or hall to keep going. If your fete is postponed, contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to move the booking to the new date.
